Today was an earth shake. It was really neat (for me anyway). Probably because I was far enough away from the epicenter that it wasn't very violent. It was cool. Now I want to make a disaster kit though, cause I don't want to be cause unawares.
Happy Birthday America!
I am quite sad because I didn't get to see any fireworks... However, I did enjoy a nice dinner and time in the spa with my hubby and Andrew and Kim.
On Thursday we just got home from our vacation in South Carolina. We flew out of LAX on Friday night at almost 11 PM. We got to see the sun rise on the plane. It was pretty cool. For any of you who know me, you know that I do not like being stuck in an airplane. I did pretty well. I was anxious for the first half of the flight while we watched The Matrix, but once that was done I put on my ipod and escaped into my own little world for a while.
We got in at 6:30 am in Charlotte, NC. We were picked up and taken to my cousin's house. We went mainly because my cousin Kara Beth was getting hitched. We hung out and napped before the wedding. The wedding was super beautiful. They had 10 attendants each plus a flower girl and ring bearer. There were probably 350+ people there. HUGE! We were way under dressed. Someone (I am not sure who) came up to us at the reception and said "You must be the visitors from California" in a total southern drawl. Then he leans down to his granddaughter and says "Guess where these people are from". It was totally rude but extremely funny at the same time.
After the wedding we stayed at our friends, Jerem and Terra's house. It was pretty cool. They were super awesome hosts, and fed us home cooked meals the whole time we were there. We got to view some pretty neat places, a dairy barn which had goats, cows, horses and donkeys, a golf-course community where you can buy a plot of land and build a custom home for $800,000 and up, Lake Wiley and the city of Charlotte.
I am glad to be home, I missed my kittens. It was a good week away from work though :) I am dreading Monday.
